Esha Deol, born on November 2, 1982 is a well-known Indian actress. She hails from a family with acting background. Esha Deol is the eldest daughter of the celebrated actor Dharmendra and the ‘dream girl’ beauty Hemamalini. Hemamalini is a well-known dancer and also actress of her time. Esha Deol has a younger sister named Ahana Deol. The other famous actors like Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are her half-brothers.

Esha Deol takes after her mother Hemamalini, in acting and dancing. She is an expert in Indian classical dances like Oddissi and Bharathanatyam. Esha Deol, along with her mother does lots of stage programs. Some people do not know that this 5 ’6’ beauty plays football and was a national level football player. Her schooling was at Jamnabai Narsee School, where she learned football. Esha Deol has Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology from Oxford University and Masters Degree in Media Arts. She can speak Tamil fluently just like her mother who is originally from Tamil Nadu. And, this is not new to Bollywood as most of the beauties of old times hail from Tamil Nadu.

Esha Deol is active in both dance and sports, which is a tough combination. Yes, that is Esha Deol and that explains her flexible body with flab less stature. But recently she lost her weight and looks beautiful too. She alone can take up the roles like Uma Thurman’s in Kill Bill. Though she takes after her mother in acting and beauty, her movies did not become success at first. But after two years of acting she excelled in this field and got another movie ‘Dhoom’, which became number one in hit list. The other hit movies to her name are ‘Kaal’, ‘No Entry’ and ‘Dus’. Esha also acted in a Tamil movie “Ayitha Ezhuthu” by Mani Ratnam in 2004.

As of achievements Esha Deol received the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her debut movie ‘Kash Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche’ in 2002. It just did not stop there. A series of awards followed like Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female in 2002 and Bollywood Movie Award - Best Female Debut in 2003 for the same movie. Esha Deol also received a national award for ‘LOC Kargil’ in 2003. She was also nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in the movie ‘Dhoom’ and for Filmfare Best Villain Award in ‘Ankahee’.

It is heard that she refused to compete Miss Bikini World Contest as she did not want to offend her father. Though a lover of actions movies like Kill Bill, Esha Deol prefers mild and girlish fragrance of Pleasure from Estee Lauder. Her parents are seriously thinking or her marriage though she has a different approach towards marriage. Besides, she said she is not in hurry to marry. Esha Deol does not believe in arranged marriage and said she has to be in love before such a sacred relationship. Esha Deol is health conscious and so she needs her would be to be. As of rumors, Esha Deol dated Arya Babbar. The name ‘Esha’ is taken from Sanskrit Upanishads that means "the divine beloved”, which is very true about her.
